Internet companies, big vs small
One of the reasons why there are very few really big internet companies here is the crab mentality. Not only are the big companies unable to innovate, they spend a lot of time and money harassing smaller companies. They think that the smaller companies will go bankrupt and they can “acquire talent ” cheap. But they do not realise 2 things
- An internet business run by a single person with no employees has very few fixed costs. The business owner can simply shut shop and spend the rest of her life gardening if she so wishes, and not touch the computer or internet connection again.
- No one can force anyone to share the knowledge he or she has, it will be only done willingly. If I know you have sabotaged my business, do you think I will ever help your business grow?
