IT jobs in a recession
Unlike the dot com bubble seven years ago, the current recession has affected almost every sector of the economy. Since the use of technology improves the efficiency of an organization, IT jobs are less likely to be affected than other jobs. However, IT workers can ensure that they become indispensable to the company they work for, by helping the company generate additional revenue and cut costs, taking up additional responsibilities and learning new skills. At the same time, an IT worker should be prepared for the worst, and keep his or her resume updated.
